Fox Orders New “24” Pilot
The 24 clock may start ticking again, but Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer won’t be back this time around.
24: Legacy, a new pilot ordered by Fox, will feature the familiar split screen, interweaving storylines and ticking clock that have become as much a part of the series as the characters themselves. Like previous seasons, the series, if green-lit by Fox, would unfold over the course of 24 hours. Viewers, in turn, would be treated to a brand new ensemble of characters.
Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins, according to The Wrap, has been earmarked to take over from Bauer as the show’s lead character – army ranger Eric Carter.
Carter, who has become a military hero, settles with his wife in Virginia, but is pulled back into service when his troubles past resurfaces. After he asks CTU for its help in saving his life, Carter strives to thwart one of the biggest terrorist attacks on American soil.
As with previous seasons, the show would unfold over the course of 24 hours.
No word yet on other characters or stars, but we’ll keep you posted.
The pilot will be produced by 20 Century Television, Imagine Entertainment in association with Teakwood Lake Productions.
Hawkins will next be seen in Kong: Skull Island, also starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and Tom Hiddleston, which is currently slated for a March 2017 release.
