Bacon To Enter Jungle
Kevin Bacon will play Jossi Ghinsberg, an adventurer who became lost in Bolivia’s Amazon rainforest in 1981.
The project, to be called Jungle, is one of eleven films to receive more than $9 million in funding from Screen Australia – an agency that financially supports screen production.
Gary Hamilton, Dana Lustig, Mike Gabraway and Mark Lazarus are producing Jungle, which has been scripted by Justin Monjo.
McClean previously directed Bacon in 6 Miranda Drive, a supernatural thriller in which a family’s visit to the Grand Canyon leads to their being terrorised by a supernatural force. He also helmed the 2005 thriller WolF Creek, in which some backpackers, touring the Australian Outback, fall victim to a murderous bushman.
Bacon will next be seen in Black Mass – an account of true life South Boston gangster Whitey Bulger. Bulger is currently serving two consecutive life sentences, plus five years for money laundering , racketeering and involvement in nearly twenty murders.
He is said to have been the inspiration for Jack Nicholson’s character in director Martin Scorsese’s crime hit The Departed.
