“Bounty” On Will Smith
Concerning a man who escapes from prison, after being wrongly convicted of murder, Bounty, a new project to star Will Smith, has been picked up by Paramount Pictures.
Sascha Penn, who is also penning The Idolmaker for MGM, has hammered out the screenplay.
After his conviction, Smith’s character escapes from prison in an attempt to prove his innocence. However, he soon learns that the victim’s widow has placed a $10 million bounty on his head.
Overbrook Entertainment, Smith’s company, will produce the film alongside Madhouse’s Entertainment’s Adam Kolbrenner.
Smith has certainly got a busy slate on his hands. Aside from his starring role in the upcoming Focus – in which he plays a suave con-man opposite Margot Robbie – he will be see in Concussion, which explores how repeated concussions cause American football players to suffer from long term debilitating problems and head injuries. Peter Landesman is helming the pic, which is slated for a Christmas Day release.
On the sci-fi / fantasy level, he will star in director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, expected to be released Summer 2016, which hails from the DC Comics universe and concerns a team of villains who fight monsters for the government.
