“Butler” Director Ventures Into Supernatural Territory
Demon House, a real life possession tale from Relativity Media, will be director Lee Daniels’ first foray into the supernatural realm.
Daniels, whose previous directorial contributions include The Butler and Precious, will helm the allegedly true account of Latoya Ammons and her three children, who claim to have been terrorised by demonic forces while living in their home in Gary, Indiana.
According to media accounts, Ammons’ children were levitated and tossed around the house, Ammons’ son walked backwards up a wall, while various sounds, including banging on the basement door and barking dogs, were heard.
After being called in to investigate the occurrences, which are said to have taken place between 2011 and 2012, Reverend Michael Maginot said he believed the family were being tormented by ghosts. A worker from the Department of Child Services, as well as a number of police officers, apparently attended exorcisms peformed on Ammons by Maginot.
Demon House will be financed, produced and distributed by Relativity. Jackson Nguyen, Todd Crites and Bruce Cohen are to serve as producers.
