Cage To Star In New Crime Thriller
Nicolas Cage is to star in Dog Eat Dog, a crime thriller about a botched kidnapping.
Arclight Films and Pure Dopamine announced the project, which will be directed by Paul Schrader, at the Cannes Film Festival this past weekend.
Schrader also wrote the script – based on Eddie Bunker’s award winning novel of the same name – about three LA based ex cons who are supposed to carry out a kidnapping. However, things go wrong, the situation spirals out of control and the men will do anything to stay out of jail.
In a press release Schrader described bunker as “one of the main people who can define modern crime writing.” He also described Dog Eat Dog as “Bunker at his very best.”
Pure Dopamine’s Mark Earl Burman and David Hillary will serve as producers, while exec producers comprise of Gary Hamilton, Don Rivers, Tim Peternel, Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield.
