Clooney Spearheads “Doomsday” Project
Concerning the efforts of Joe Navarro, a former body language effort with the FBI, to track down Clyde Lee Conrad, an army officer who sold highly classified material to Hungary during the days of the Cold War, Three Days to Doomsday looks to be headed for the big screen.
George Clooney and production company Smokehouse Pictures have acquired the book, written by Navarro and Howard Means, for adaptation.
Means previously collaborated on Sleeping with The Devil, by Robert Baer, which was later adapted into Syriana. Clooney won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for that movie.
Our Brand is Crisis, a comedy revolving around the 2002 Bolivian Presidential elections is the next title from Smokehouse Productions. The project is based on the true story of Greenberg, Carville Schrum as they apply American campaign tactics to South America.
David Gordon Green is directing the film, slated for a 2016 release, which first materialised as a documentary, directed by Rachel Boynton, back in 2006.
