“Conjuring 2” Begins Filming
Production of The Conjuring 2, a sequel to James Wan’s 2013 horror hit, is now officially underway.
According to Comingsoon.net, a priest blessed the set (just to make sure no unexpected visitors suddenly show up during filming).
James Wan, who helmed the original, is in the director’s chair, while Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
New Line Cinema’s sequel is said to be loosely based on a case where the Warrens visited Enfield, an area of North London, to investigate an alleged haunting involving two young sisters. In the movie version, Frances O’ Connor plays the mother of young girl who is being terrorised by a haunting.
No word yet on exactly where the movie is being shot.
Chad and Carey Hayes, the first Conjuring’s scribes, are scripting the project, which is rumoured to be titled The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Haunting. Release date is set for June 10, 2016.
