“Conjuring 2” Gets Release Date
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, the sequel to 2013’s hit, which raked up just over $318 million at the worldwide box office, will be released on June 10 2016.
The film will be based on another allegedly true story experienced by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). Director James Wan, and writers Chad and Carey Hayes, who shepherded the first film to the screen, will all be returning for the second adventure.
The Enfield Poltergeist concerns an apparent haunting that unfolded in a house in Enfield, a suburb of London, during the mid ‘70s.
According to press reports, a single parent family, who lived in the house, was plagued by the movement of objects, ghostly apparitions and physical assaults. The strange goings on seemed to revolve around two daughters aged 11 and 12. On one occasion, a male voice could supposedly be heard coming from both girls. The voice claimed it was “Bill”, a man who had died of a brain haemorrhage in the house.
In another instance, a police officer signed an affidavit swearing that she had witnessed a chair move on its own.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist is slated to begin production Summer 2015.
