Eastwood May Venture Into Pacific Rim
Scott Eastwood seems to be intent on carrying on the family business.
Execs at Legendary Pictures are currently eyeing the son of movie star / director Clint Eastwood for a leading role in the sequel to 2013’s Pacific Rim. According to Deadline, the story is being centred around the star.
Steven S. DeKnight is directing the film, which also stars John Boyega as the son of the character played by Idris Elba in the first film. Production is due to commence later this year.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the original film – which concerns a war between humanity and some very nasty sea monsters – grossed more than $400 million at the worldwide box office.
Aside from joining the upcoming Fast and Furious 8, which will also star Charlize Theron as a villain, Eastwood is appearing in Suicide Squad – Warner Bros’ comic to movie adaptation – Live By Night – a gangster pic directed by Ben Affleck – and Oliver Stone’s Snowdon.
