Ed Harris Joins “Westworld”
Harris is to play the villain in HBO’s re-imagining Westworld
Directed by Michael Crichton, the 1973 film, which starred Yul Brynner, Richard Benjamin and James Brolin, concerned a massive robot malfunction at an adult themed amusement park.
Harris, who will play a character known only as The Man in Black, joins a cast that also includes Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and James Marsden.
Executive producers comprise of J.J Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote the pilot, will also serve as director.
Harris earned an Emmy nomination for his performance as Senator John McCain in Game Change – an account of McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign and his decision to use Sarah Palin as his running mate, an as the owner of a restaurant in 2005’s drama Empire Falls.
