Israeli Actress Gal Gadot Is Wonder Woman
Practically nothing is known about the storyline at this point, but judging by the film’s current title, we can assume the sequel to this year’s Man of Steel involves some kind of bust up between the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) and the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill).
In a press release, Zack Snyder, the film’s director, says Wonder Woman is “one of the most powerful female characters of all time.” He also describes Gadot as an “amazing actress” and went on to say that her “magical quality” made her perfect for the role.
Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman on television during the ’70s, tweeted a message of congratulations to the actress.
28 year old Gadot has a solid modeling background. At age 19 she won the title of Miss Israel, and then at age 20 began two years service in the Israeli army. After making her acting debut on Israeli TV, she starred in three Fast and Furious movies.
Like fans around the world and the entire Hollywood community, Gadot is shocked by the sudden death of her Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker.
“Still can’t believe it,” she tweeted. “So sad and so tragic. I wish it was just a bad dream.”
