Moretz’s Brain To Sizzle
Brain on Fire, which chronicles a young woman’s gradual descent into madness, will now star Chloe Grace Moretz, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Dakota Fanning had originally been earmarked for the starring role, but scheduling conflicts lead to the actress pulling out of the project.
Big stars are also stepping behind the camera. Gerard Butler is slated to direct, while Charlize Theron will serve as producer via her company, Denver and Delilah.
Moretz and Theron first worked together in the upcoming Dark Places – an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name. That story centers around Libby Day – teenager who sees her entire family get murdered and who testifies against her brother after he is accused of the crime.
More than twenty years later, the Kill Club, a secret organization dedicated to uncovering the truth about that really happened tacks down Libby. Believing her brother to be innocent, the require Libby to revisit some very dark and horrific memories.
