“Olympus Has Fallen” Gets Sequel
Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler, stars of this year’s big actioner Olympus Has Fallen look set to reprise their roles in London has Fallen.
Millennium Films and G-Base, Butler’s production company, which produced this year’s action blockbuster, are, as the title suggests, shifting the action to London.
US President Benjamin Asher (Eckhart), Presidential guard Mike Banning (Butler) and Trumball (Freeman), speaker of the House of Representatives, are attending the funeral of the British Prime Minister.
According to current buzz, Antoine Fuqua, who directed Olympus Has Fallen, will not be helming the sequel, but Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger will be returning to write the screenplay.
In Olympus Has Fallen terrorists storm the White House and take the president hostage, while Banning, who finds himself trapped inside the building, must save the day.
Fuqua’s hit grossed more than £90 million domestically and over £160 million in the international front.
Producers are Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, Matt O’Toole and Danny Lerner.
Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Christine Crow.
