“Remember” Scribe Powers Down
Screenwriter Benjamin August is certainly trying his hand at completely different genres.
Last year he made his writing debut with Remember, Atom Egoyan’s Holocaust offering in which two survivors of Auschwitz meet in a nursing home and plot the murder of a man who happened to be a guard at the death camp.
In complete contrast to Remember, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year, August, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has been hired to script Power Down, an action film in which the President of the United States takes a temporary leave of absence to hunt down his missing daughter.
San Andreas producer, Beau Flynn, is producing.
Before moving into the writing field, August was a casting director of shows such as Fear Factor.
No news on casting yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
