“Safe House” Director May Shed Some Blood On Snow
Filmmaker Daniel Espinosa is currently in talks to helm Blood Snow, a thriller which may star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Based on an upcoming novel by crime writer Jo Nesbo, the story revolves around a hit man who falls in love with his boss’ wife after after he has been approached to eliminate her.
Two sequels are planned for the novel, which is apparently to be written under Nesbo’s literary pseudonym Tom Johansen.
DiCaprio is already one of the film’s producers.
The film is also being produced by Jennifer Davisson Killoran of Appian Way DiCaprio’s production company, and Langley Park Productions’ president Kevin McCormack.
Espinosa is also the director of the upcoming Child 44 – a thriller concerning a war hero (Tom Hardy) and member of the State Security Force, who is tracking down a serial killer of children. However, he clashes with his superiors when they deny the killer even exists. The film, which also stars Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman and Vincent Cassell, among others, unfolds during the waning days of Stalin’s rule.
The filmmaker previously helmed the Denzel Washington starrer Safe House and Easy Money, a Swedish thriller, also known as Snabba Cash.
