“Shield” Actor Charged With Murder
Actor Michael Jace, best known as LAPD officer Julien Lowe in TV’s cop series The Shield, has been charged with murdering his wife April Jace.
If convicted, 51 year old Jace faces between 50 years and life in a state prison.
According to reports, Jace called 911 and told an operator that he had shot his wife.
Los Angeles TV stations KCBS and KCAL 9 both reported that Jace was detained at the scene by officers who had been called out to the actor’s house, located in the Hyde Park section of Los Angeles, after gunshots were heard.
Officers found April Jace dead with gunshot wounds to the body.
A Christain, who frequently struggled with his own sexuality, Julien Lowe was a rookie officer when The Shield, debuted in 2002, and had worked his way up to a detective by the series finale in 2008. During that period, Jace had appeared in 89 episodes.
