“Superman Vs Batman” Writer Will Helm “The Breach”
Alien technology, an end of the world scenario, a beautiful survivor and a group of assassins are at the centre of The Breach, a sci fi film recently acquired by Lionsgate.
David Goyer, writer of the upcoming Superman Vs Batman, is slated to direct the pic, which is being scripted by Justin Rhodes. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.
Based on the 2009 novel by Patrick Lee, the story concerns Travis Chase, an ex cop who is trying to put his life back together.
While hiking in the Alaskan Rockies, he discovers a crashed 747 that has remained seemingly undiscovered by the local authorities. Those on board, who include the First Lady, have been shot.
Even though the title went to studios last week, drawing interest from Warner Bros, Fox, Millennium and Relativity, Goyer optioned the book last year and had been developing it independently together with Bonaventura.
The Breach is the first in a trilogy, followed by Ghost Country and Deep Sky.
David Goyer’s other writing credits include the Dark Knight trilogy and the Blade films. He has previously directed Blade: Trinity and The Unborn.
