TNT Has Horror Block Party
TNT is having horror block party.
Based on the famous horror comics of the same name, Tales from The Crypt will be hosting a block of horror programming, created by M. Night Shyamalan, on the cable network.
HBO originally adapted the comics into an award winning series, which ran from 1989 to 1996, but this will be a brand new imagining of the famous tales published by EC Comics during the 1950s.
Hosting the series, to comprise of ten episodes, will be a brand new version of the Crypt Keeper, that rotting cadaver who previously hosted the comic books and HBO series.
Also ordered to pilot are Time of Death, which essentially sounds like the horror genre’s version of 24 as it as it goes hour by hour per episode, and promises “ a long night of hell.” R. Christopher Murphy wrote the pilot, while Shymalan will executive produce.
Meanwhile, Mr. Corgi, an internet bogeyman, is at the center of Creatures, another title slated for the horror block.
Two teenagers, at 12 years old, attempt to cut out their classmate’s heart and sacrifice it to Mr. Corgi. Jump 15 years into the future. and the two young women are released to a psychiatric institute located in a small Alaska town. However, it’s only a matter of time before they once again feel Mr. Corgi’s pull.
Night is the director of The Sixth Sense, The Village, The Lady in The Water and last year’s The Visit, among other titles. He also exec produces Fox Television’s WayWard Pines, starring Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard and Melissa Leo.
