Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman To Produce Sci-Fi Pic
After resurrecting the dearly departed for AMC’s The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic series upon which the hit series is based, is setting his sights on the movie screen.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Kirkman is producing Air, a sci-fi thriller that will also star The Walking Dead alum Norman Reedus.
The story, set in the wake of a worldwide nuclear disaster, concerns two caretakers (Reedus and Djimon Hounsou), who are responsible for the cryogenically sleeping personnel that is supposed to re-establish society.
However, they struggle to maintain their own lives and sanity in what is basically the last habitable place on earth.
The script is written by Christain Cantamessa, the co-writer and lead designer on video games Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption and Chris Pasetto, the film’s director.
Producers include Kirkman and David Alpert, a partner with Circle of Confusion, the production company behind The Walking Dead. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, producer of the Insidious movies is also producing.
Reedus is also serving as executive producer, along with Bailey Conway and Noah Rosen.
