Woody Harrelson Goes Ape
Woody Harrelson will play a human in the next chapter of The Planet of The Apes franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harrelson, who stared alongside Matthew McConaughey in the excellent first season of True Detective, will be playing a character known only as The Colonel.
Matt Reeves, helmer of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is back in the director’s chair. Also back is screenwriter Mark Bomback. Dylan Clark is producing, along with Chernin Entertainment.
Harrelson is playing US President Lyndon Baines Johnson in LBJ, directed by Rob Reiner and also starring Bill Pullman and Richard Jenkins. The film, which will hit theatres next year, charts Johnson’s rise from his days in West Texas to the White House. Johnson served as president from 1963 to 1969.
