“X-Men” Producer Goes For “Logan’s Run”
Writer / producer Simon Kinberg is the latest Hollywood figure to take a shot at the Logan’s Run remake – according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros has been trying to get this off the ground since around 2000. Over the years, different people, including writers Alex Garland and Christopher McQuarrie, have tried their hand at reviving the story, but the project just hasn’t taken off.
Now, however, Kinberg will write the treatment and story, while another writer will pen the script.
Meanwhile, Hollywood heavy-hitter Joel Silver, bringer of the Matrix and Die Hard franchises, is producing.
Michael York and Jenny Agutter starred in the 1976 version of Logan’s Run, directed by Michael Anderson, which revolved around a future world where life had to end at age 30. The title was based on William F. Nolan’s 1967 novel of the same name.
Kinberg is producer of X-Men: Apocalypse, Fantastic Four and Sherlock Holmes, as well as other titles.
